"RHEOLOGY" - named after the study of continuum between solids and fluids - is a new exhibition by Japanese painter Kei Houraku, who has recently explored possibility of a painting method appropriating digital print materials without mechanical reproduction processes. Replacing grid-data rendering with playful improvisation of floating ink, Houraku transforms the today's most common and cheapest image devise into a distinct field of art while maintaining its flat and smooth incorporeality ubiquitous in our everyday life.
